It has been, as ever, a busy week. Dealing with drains that are blocked, overseeing building work and finances, looking at the church IT needs, ordering needed goods for church online and thinking about which policies we have in place and ensuring their is cover for Tots and Carers. Also receiving and signing off grant paper work .... (they don't tell you about any of this in theological college!) Then there are all the things they do tell you about, thinking about church strategy, pastoral issues and preparing sermons, meeting with deacons, Tim and Katy answering emails, prayer, reading and study, meeting with other church leaders to look at youth work in Surbiton, training the team who help at the Well, contacting organisations who might run activities at Balaclava Road when it is finished, writing blogs and notices(!) ..and that's without all my YMCA activities! But for those who are now worried YES I did have a day off and no I didn't miss any Emmerdale ! The thing is, I find, that although many of those activities are not really in my skill set, God always equips me to do them or places those around me with the right skills who support me - that's all of you with your various gifts and talents. I am reminded then, that we are indeed the body of Christ with different gifts and that it is only together that God gets his will through our church done.
