Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look–the Judge is standing at the door! ' James 5:9
This week I was reminded of this verse and others in scripture warning us not to judge others too quickly. Here's why.
When some of us arrived for the prayer meeting this week we found what looked like, flour all round the outside and on the inside of the church foyer. I was not impressed. As several of us spent some time hoovering and washing the steps we muttered things like ' it must have been those Chill Out staff or children having a flour fight and they haven't cleared up properly' , they need to respect church property'.. I for one, assumed the worst and judged. However on investigation what had actually happened was a swarm of flying ants had flown into the building when the door was opened, they were also coming up through cracks under the carpet and nesting in the broken cement in the brickwork. The white powder was actually ant spray the Chill Out staff had put down to try to solve the problem! It is easy to judge, to assume the worst, but let's be different and love one another, assume the best of one another both in our church and in our personal lives.
