Hi I am Jacky the minister at Surbiton New life Baptist Church.
I have 25 years experience in leading churches in the area and love leading Surbiton New Life. I have a duel ministry in that I minister at the church two days a week and am the lead Chaplain at YMCA London South West on the other days.I have a passion for reaching with God's love, those on the edges of society, which is reflected in the ministry of the church. At the YMCA a large part of my role is reaching out to the homeless people who live in our hostels, running activities that regularly bring them to know Christ. This joint role gives tremendous opportunities for church members to reach out to others and I believe that whilst the church has a responsibility for caring for its members, its purpose is also to continually reach out in mission to those outside the church. If you are looking for a church where you want to be used but also be cared for do pop in and see if we are the place God might be calling you to be.

Born 12/02/1946 on Oakland's cradle roll later that year, baptised 10/12/1961. Married to Sue 12/02/1972, two daughters and four grandchildren. Been on diaconate since 1971 and secretary since 2003. Was a Biomedical Scientist for forty years, retired as Principal Biomedical Scientist and since then has worked part time at his local GPs surgery as Phlebotomist and handling results. Has worked with the last three pastors as secretary and with Adam Stacey and Jacky Bone helped established our outreach project 'the well' has always been interested in youth outreach and talking to anyone about Jesus.
I'm Carol (born before Christmas, hence the name) and I've had a variety of jobs over the years, shop assistant, trainee gym instructor (yes really... and no, not anymore), nursery worker, PA to a virology consultant, but this one is currently the best.
I'm always busy doing something, singing at the YMCA, amateur dramatics with Benchmark Theatre, stand up comedy, cycling or watching TV (strictly intellectual stuff of course).
I'm originally a North Londoner (come on you Spurs!) but am now happily settled in Surbiton.
My connections with Surbiton New Life and the local area go back a long way. I moved to Surbiton at the age of six and have been here on and off ever since. My links with local churches began when I started going to St Matthew's Church Youth Group, where I discovered and developed my Christian faith. I left home to study medicine at Manchester University and returned to live and work here in 1988. I was baptised at the Church in the same year and took the church connection even further by meeting and later marrying my wife there. We also had our son's dedication at the church.
I lead the worship group and regularly play violin and guitar on a Sunday morning. I am also part of a home group that meets regularly for prayer and bible study.
I am serving in my third term as a Deacon and as part of my role in helping to lead and guide the church I like to encourage the leadership to bring sustainability considerations into our policy and practice. I have recently project managed the installation of a solar panels at the church manse.
I particularly value the warmth of the fellowship at Surbiton New Life and consider the other members as my brothers and sisters in Christ.
